Louis Hourlier

Born in Marseille, he is architect of the City of Cannes in 1878-1890, then town councillor in 1895-1904. He designs and achieves various municipal and private projects, which attest of a real talent, of technical innovations and of originality. He is among the first in Cannes to use cast iron and metallic structures in his constructions. He achieves the kiosk of Les Allées (in 1880), which roofing is thoroughly studied for a good acoustic, the expansion of the Hotel Gonnet et de la Reine (in 1883), designs a school of  Arts (in 1884), realizes the Casino des Fleurs, the first state of the Hotel Gallia (in 1888), as well as several villas in various styles.
